Mt Diablo State Park Waterfalls Hike 2021 Mitchell Canyon, Donner Canyon, Meridian Trail Bruce Lee

Mt. Diablo has many trails to choose from. A couple of weeks ago, I did the Summit Trail and was hooked! I couldn't wait to get back out here to see another side of the mountain. I love the sound of water so it was an easy decision to to investigate the trails that lead to the waterfalls.
We entered the park at Mitchel Canyon parking lot. We arrived at 9am and parking is $6 cash only. We used the AllTrails app (90% accuracy?). The weather was 65 degrees and the trails weren't muddy from the rains from the previous week. We wove through different trails that eventually lead to the picturesque waterfalls. The route we took had many steep inclines, narrow switch backs and rocky terrain. In the video I thought we only went up to 1500 Elevation in actuality, we climbed to 2000 Elevation, just below the peak of the waterfalls.
It is a beautiful hike with various types of landscape. From clay mountains to lush forest greenery. Pack a nice lunch and enjoy the views whether it is at the waterfalls or just sitting on the rocks taking in natures beauty.
I recommend wearing the proper shoes because regular tennis shoes may not have enough traction for the rugged terrain.
