"Ashita Kuru Hi" (Secret ver.) - Kobato

This is the "True" guitar version of Ashita Kuru Hi / あした来る日 from Kobato. / こばと。

Hi, everyone. It's really been a long time :)
As I expected, many and maybe all of the people seem disappointed on the previous video "Ashita Kuru Hi / あした来る日 " (Camouflage ver.)    • "Ashita Kuru Hi" (Camouflage ver.) - Kobato  
I apologize for that.
So, this video is the real, actual arrangement of the song.

However, the previous video was not a prank. It was the camouflage part (say camo for short) of this work, and this video is the secret part. This secret true song is always "findable" with given information from the camo (e.g. tuning, fretting, etc.) I call it secretism / 秘密主義. Plus, the description of camo was sort of hint, though I should have given a stronger one.

There are two main reasons I made this a year ago. One is that I wanted to create a work whose song and impression are dependent on the listener's will: if passive listeners decide to be active, like trying to mimic the playing, then they probably find out the secret by noticing a little noise from the neck side. Recognition in which the atonal, uncomfortable song suddenly becomes the tonal, comfortable one gives listeners such emotions as surprise. Experiencing some emotions while knowing the secret may more maximize the feeling of them.
Another more critical reason is that I wanted to utilize the vibration of the strings nearby neck side. (between a tapping finger and nut) I love the song Ashita Kuru Hi /あした来る日, but the usual playing methods seem to have the fundamental limitations to express what I want. (and also I was tired of the tone of vibrations of the body side strings at that time) On the other hand, implementing vibrations of the neck side strings was better for it. I could express the purity of Kobato's singing by slightly deviating from the exact Western scale; her pitch is incorrect sometimes in the original song, but it makes something. I was able to easily use many high pitches, some of which are even impossible to sound if we only depend on the body-side strings' vibration. Also, the different tone more like orgel or piano was created.

The way of recording camo is normal. Receiving sounds via a magnetic pickup mounted on the hole. For this secret song, I somehow reversely mounted a magnetic pickup nearby 3rd fret, which is not shown in here but hid in the previous video.

Sorry for the long, boring description.
The reason I upload this now is, that I think I cannot return here until Mar 2021. This is a long time, so I thought I need to notify this is good-bye for a while. In the same time, I hoped this my little work helps guitarists more apply unusual side of strings to their works by knowing it is possible to make the Western scale with here, although of course it still has some limits.
