FIRST LOOK: Alpine A390 – The French Take On Tesla & Porsche!

You’re looking at Alpine’s rival for the Porsche Macan SUV.

Well, almost, as this is technically the Alpine A390_β, the ‘_β’ signifying it’s the concept car that foreshadows the real thing. That, and Alpine are at pains to only ever call it a ‘sport fastback’, never an SUV.

Nonetheless, it is a five-seat crossover aimed at the Porsche Macan and the Tesla Model Y, and Alpine promises that the exterior design is 85% true to the production car we’ll see in 2025. That, and although the interior is all show-car silliness, we know the real A390’s powertrain will consist of three electric motors, with one at the front and one for each rear wheel. Might there be a little A110 handling magic in there too?
