Most people want to have their sense of reward back, that is why the majority want to taper off of Geodon. Sometimes it's due to complicated symptoms such as akathisia or Tardive dyskinesia - Lyle Murphy

5) Does Geodon eliminate schizophrenia?
No. It will just be subdued, it is not actually eliminating the problem. Taking care of yourself and actually living within your own body, doing exercise, and having proper nutrient levels, is not usually covered in the traditional psychiatric approach. A Naturopathic perspective is very beneficial.

6) Is it dangerous to drink alcohol while on Geodon?
These are both sedatives, so you would basically be double dosing on sedatives. You would kind of be going down "Could I be more Unconscious" kind of road.

It would depend on your genetics whether the medication is going to be more stimulating or sedative to you. Depending on how your dopamine, and your glutamate, and how those receptors are re-calibrating to the med change.

Having sleep problems is not uncommon for someone coming off of antipsychotic medication.If you have only been on the meds 6 months, for some people 30 days might be enough to be in the clear. But these drugs can have a backslide that can last for months. It all depends on a persons genetics.

9) Is it normal to lose weight, appetite, or experience low testosterone, from Geodon use?
Testosterone - Yes, it has been seen where individuals could report reduced testosterone while taking Geodon.
Weight - It is actually more common for an individual to experience weight gain rather than weight loss from Geodon.

10) I experience shakes constantly, is this from Geodon?
I would ask a provider if they know anything about Tardive dyskinesia or akathisia. This drug should be settling you down, and it's not.

11) Can Geodon cause akathisia?
People experiencing this as......"I can't stop moving", or, "I want to run out of my own skin" Akathisia is literally the inability to sit still within ones body. This is an adverse reaction of taking the medication.
