These explosives detonators vaporize a fine copper wire using a capacitor bank. The shockwave causes any nearby explosives to detonate. I used alligator clip wire and camera capacitors for this project. It can detonate (i.e. explosion, not fireball) nitrocellulose, which is pretty loud when done right. Detonation can be achieved by confining compressed nitrocellulose with something like tape or a casing. A bridgewire in the middle of the compressed wad of nitrocellulose initiates detonation.
