We booked our day tour at Klook.com few weeks before our desired date. We scheduled our trip on a weekday to avoid crowds.
First spot, Yehliu Geopark. Yehliu is a scenic cape on the northern coast of Taiwan known for its unique rock formations, including the iconic "Queen's Head" and "Mushroom Rocks."
Second, Shifen Waterfall. A majestic 20-meter tall waterfall located in Taiwan's Pingxi District, surrounded by lush greenery and a popular spot for hiking and nature enthusiasts.
Third, we went to Shifen Old Street to fly a sky lantern. This old street is a historic railway town in Taiwan famous for its sky lanterns, traditional snacks, and stunning waterfall.
Last but not the least, the famous Jiufen Old Street. Jiufen is a charming mountain town in Taiwan known for its narrow alleyways, teahouses, and stunning views of the coastline. We had a lot of free food and drinks to taste!
Tips based on experience:
1. Bring your umbrella, hat or raincoats. The weather is unpredictable!
2. Wear your sunscreen.
3. Wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking a lot.
4. Do not eat a lot in one place for you to try other foods along the way.
5. Be mindful with your time limits. You're not the only one on your tour.
6. Bring a little notebook for your free souvenir stamps.
7. Bring a light weight bag so you won't get tired while you're on a tour.
8. You may ask your tour guide nicely if you are confused on something or if you want to try something.
9. Do not take for granted the free taste. I mean, just take a bite and say thank you even if you're not buying it.
10. Stuffed chicken wings is a must try! (my favorite!)
