Russia launched a fresh wave of missile and drone strikes on Ukraine hours after Kyiv, Moscow, and Washington held rare trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi aimed at exploring a possible path toward peace. Explosions were reported across Kyiv as air defenses intercepted incoming threats, leaving at least one person dead and several injured. Parts of the capital lost heat and water amid freezing winter temperatures. Ukraine’s second-largest city, Kharkiv, was also hit, with strikes damaging a maternity hospital and housing for displaced people. The attacks underscore the fragile state of diplomacy as negotiations continue.
