A RTC trip to Brazil to sample the railways and trams on the 5th to 21st September 2008.

A trip on the Estrada de Ferro Oeste de Minas 762mm (2ft 6in) gauge line from São João del-Rei to Tiradentes 13km and return behind Baldwin 2-8-0 68 (1919) & 4-4-0 22 (1912) plus visiting the roundhouse and the impressive station and museum at São João del-Rei.
The Estrada de Ferro Oeste de Minas (EFOM) was a 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) narrow-gauge railway located in the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. At its peak the railway's route totalled 775 km (482 mi). The final part closed in 1983 with only the section from Tiradentes to São João Del Rei being retained as a tourist line.
