Check out my easy to bake chocolate tart recipe. Learn how to make a classic tart shell, and fill it with decadent chocolate mousse. Chocolate tart is one of my favorite desserts to make, and its huge upgrade from chocolate cake or chocolate pie.
Here's how to make my chocolate tart:
Chocolate tart recipe:
180 grams AP flour
45 grams almond flour
50 grams powdered sugar
Whisk dry ingredients and set aside.
In a stand mixer, cream 110 grams (1 stick) of butter until reaches mayonnaise consistency.
Add 50 grams of powdered sugar to butter and continue to mix until light and fluffy
Add in the flour mixture to the butter and slowly mix until reaches texture of wet sand.
Add 1 whole egg and mix until well blended and smooth.
Remove from bowl and wrap in plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for minimum 1 hour. After dough has firmed up, roll out on the counter to fit a pastry ring or pie dish and blind bake at 350 degrees 40 minutes.
For chocolate mousse filling:
Melt together:
75 grams butter
150 grams dark chocolate
Add 3 egg yolks once chocolate butter has cooled.
In mixer, whip 3 egg whites with 2 tablespoons sugar. Fold in whipped egg whites to chocolate base, spread into baked tart shell, and bake 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees.
