Unfortunately, my only other cat, Tilly, died peacefully today.
She was suffering from a tumour inside her head that was making the right side of her face swell up a bit. She was still eating, but she was breathing through her mouth and was constantly rubbing her right eye. The vet suggested that we give her painkillers for a few days, but her heartbeat was becoming so fast, that she was going to pass away in her sleep anyway. If we had kept her alive for a few days, we would just be delaying the inevitable, so the vet had to put her too sleep that afternoon.
Just my luck: both of my cats gone in less than a year, before my oldest dog, two days before my birthday, and I’m left with no fluffy body to stroke or keep me company anymore. Life’s an utter asshole sometimes.
So, Tilly is now sleeping peacefully. God bless her.
