Unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation spread today about this verse (Isaiah 14:12), stemming from modern scholarship, which claims "Lucifer" was not intended by the KJV translators as a proper name, but simply a latin word that means "light bearer".
The truth of the matter is that the KJV translators knew exactly what it meant (and what it still means today), and they deliberately used "Lucifer" instead of "day star", as found in the margin of the original 1611 KJB.
