Dr. Phil Willink, a researcher at the Illinois Natural History Survey, spoke on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to solve conservation problems in the Calumet Region, Tuesday evening, January 6. Willink is co-author of the recent field guide, Fishes of the Chicago Region, published by the University of Chicago Press. He previously worked for the Shedd Aquarium as a senior research biologist, and prior to that for the Field Museum. President of the Association for the Wolf Lake Initiative, Willink holds a doctorate in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Michigan.
