TRIP REPORT - Cape Air (C402C), Chicago to St Louis

After a brief visit to Chicago this past December, I decided it would be fun to give Cape Air another spin. I booked this itinerary thinking it would be my first ride on the Tecnam P2012, but Cape Air ended up subbing in a Cessna 402C. That was fine with me. As little as I get to fly with Cape, this likely was my final ride on the Cessna.
The flight I hopped on was an Essential Air Service route intended to serve the small town of Quincy, IL. Cape tends to route their planes so you can stay onboard (or briefly get off while they refuel), then continue on to another major city. In this case, the aircraft's next scheduled flight was to St Louis, so they're able to sell it as one flight with a "technical stop".
With ample direct flights available along with trains and buses, this isn't a very fast or efficient way to travel by comparison. But it's a lot of fun.
