This week continues our experimentation with the Novation Circuit Tracks groove box, and to be honest, it wasn't as easy this week. I'm definitely getting to know the box, but turns out that coming up with a good beat is not that easy. I had one all ready to go, then got out to the barn to lay the track, and realized that it was not only in the wrong key, but it just didn't fit the way I had imagined. So, I spent the first hour of my recording day rejiggering the loop to make it work. (probably not the best idea to always try to do these in one day) I think I got it finally, and in the end I had a good time laying this one down. The drum beat definitely helps lock things together, and I'm exited to see where all this madness this will go. My RC 600 loop station just arrived, but it will be a while before I have the electricity in the barn I'll need to start incorporating that whole mess to the mix. In the meantime, enjoy some more Muddy Waters, with my version of the song that infamously became Whole Lotta Love!

P.S. I call these "stacked one take" covers, because although they are multi tracked, each track is a single unedited take. In case y'all were curious.
