【Beijing Subway Line 9】Time-Lapsed POV from National Library to Guogongzhuang | 北京地铁9号线 国家图书馆→郭公庄POV

Beijing Subway Line 9 is a major vertical metro rail line in the west part of downtown Beijing. With a total length of 16.5km (10.3 miles) and 13 stations along the line, it connects up crucial transit centers including Beijing West Railway Station, Liuliqiao bus terminal, and Fengtai Railway Station. It also travels through top universities, national research centers, and community neighborhoods.
Line 9 opened its first section from Guogongzhuang to Beijing West Railway Station by the end of 2011. Although it connects Fangshan Line at Guogongzhuang station, which brings passengers in the south-west suburban area further northbound and downtown, it is still disconnected from the major subway network at that time. Then a year later, by the end of 2012, the line extends north all the way to National Library, connecting Line 4, and finally made itself "enrolled" in the main subway network.
In 2022, in order to provide more convenience to passengers along the line, the Second branch of Beijing Subway (北京地铁运营二分公司), which operates both Line 9 and the Fangshan Line, managed to schedule trains that cuts through these two line. Therefore, during morning and afternoon rush hours, some of the Orange-Line Fangshan Line trains will travel all the way from Fangshan District to National Library.
A major downside of this line is its speed: it seldomly runs over 40mph. Additionally, due to sinking problems of tunnels around Beijing West Railway Station, trains are limited to 10mph around that section, making inter-city travelers feeling worried.

北京地铁9号线于2011年开通首段，并于2012年延伸后行程今天所见16.5km长的“京西走廊”。从南至北，这条线路串联了丰台站，北京西站，文旅中心，大型社区，以及多所高等研究院。连续多座同台换乘车站，外加房山线的跨线列车更是提供了巨大的便利。
美中不足的是，这条线路的平均旅行时速很慢，且由于北京西站隧道沉降，列车需龟速通过。出行旅客总是会在那一段眉头紧皱，低头看着时间。感谢铁丝的情报，本次POV拍摄成功。
