I landed my personal best lingcod from the jetty — 9.2 lbs! On top of that, I caught six solid-sized black rockfish and another smaller 3 lb lingcod. What an incredible day of fishing on the jetty!
West coast jetty fishing opens at the second half of Mar in Washington State through Oct. Rockfish and lingcod become active when the water warms up. In Washington state, you can get black rockfish (Sea bass) and lingcod at Westport jetty, Ocean Shores jetty and Cape disappointment jetty. Jetty fishing can be very productive, but it's dangerous at the same time, be sure you have a pair of good shoes which can hold the ground.
