This is a video of the late, great Gene O'Neal. I had the pleasure of standing next to him, playing bass, for nearly two years in 1985 and 86.
This song, if memory serves, was an original of Genes that we learned in around May or June of 1985, and is probably the only copy of it...at least that I know of.
Gene had a long run of working with some of Nahville's greatest, like Charlie Pride, Kenny Rogers, Dottie West, Alabama, Ray Charles, and has played on many a classic country session.
My father had a successful Country band in South Florida called Hughie Burns and the County Line through the 70s and 80s and owned his own night club which he performed at 5 nights a week. It was initially called the Tigers Paw, then in the early 80s changed to The Silver Spur.
Through the years he had a few hits on the radio and several Nashville players relocated to join the band.
Genes rig here is an Emmons LeGrande Steel, Peavey Session 400 amp and an old Echoplex tape delay.
