Paper Cup Fish

I’ve been using lots of paper cups lately, trying out some different ideas, and this ‘Paper Cup Fish’ is a real favourite. It’s based on an idea taken from my book ‘Art Shaped’, where the pieces that are removed to cut out the initial shape then get reused, what I call ‘pure making’. However, using a cup for this means that it also ends up with a cute moveable mouth! I’ve turned this model into a classic ‘clown fish’, but obviously you could alter the colours, patterns, or even the shape of the fins and tail to resemble other species. I’ve used some coloured tissue paper here, glued on with watered- down PVA glue. That’s mainly because the paper cups have a waterproof surface coating (for obvious reasons) which makes them harder to paint with water-based paints. The layer of tissue paper solves that problem. Okay, if you like this idea give it a go. Just remember that this is an original idea, you can use it, but please don’t re-record, rehash, revamp, and then pass it off as your own, ideas are intellectual property, and this one is mine. Thanks. You can find many more 3D art ideas FREE on the website www.darrellwakelam.com . . . or, if you like what you see, you can buy my book Art Shaped from most online booksellers. 😁👍
