My arborvitae/Christmas tree needs a beautiful skirt and Flowerfull Hydrangeas from @FirstEditionsShrubsTrees are finally finding a place in the garden. This Hydrangea arborescens or smooth hydrangea is an improvement on Annabelle. Stronger stems (so no flopping!) and two to three times the flower power mean the garden gets all the gorgeousness of a beautiful mophead hydrangea and I don't have to bother with staking. Yes, please!
And while I have you, lets talk about planting in high summer. You absolutely can, provided you have a water wand at the ready!
