London Pubs to Escape Christmas Shopping: Carnaby Street Area

There's an interesting cluster of pubs in the west of Soho, around Carnaby Street / Kingly Street, which happen to also be close to Oxford Street / Regent Street, and so make a good refuge from which to escape the horrors of Christmas shopping.

As always we look at the history, exteriors and interiors. Taking on the usual mixed bag of themes along the way: The Act of Union, the perils of holding a Christmas raffle, Mock Tudor architecture, the first ever pub chain and a surprising revelation about temperance taverns.
