We had an archeologist with us on our trip to explain the Petroglyphs and burials along the way, many of them from the Bronze Age 3500 years ago. The drone (DJI Avata) came in handy to view some of the petroglyphs located higher up on the mountain.
Our trip was with Mongoliatrekking.com and was a 2 week tour of central and southern Mongolia. Our caravan consited of 14 tourists 6 vehicles (4 for tourists, 1 for the cooking crew, and 1 for the Archeologist). Most travel was done off road on 4 wheel drive roads. All meals were included and many were done in a field tent prepared by our cooking crew in the Gobi desert. I brought along my favorite drone the DJI Avata with the Axisflying 3.5" upgrade which was perfect for these landscapes. In all I had over 30 flights for the whole trip.
