X-Men: Children Of The Atom [Arcade] - Magneto

Magneto is the final boss. He is an unplayable character in this version of the game.

===== About Magneto =====
A famous and extremely powerful Marvel super-villain. Basically the 'my-species-should-rule-the-world' type villain.

This guy is very overpowered... he is fast, inflicts high energy depletion and has massive priority in most of his moves. His Force Field makes him completely invincible for a temporary time; his Magnetic Shockwave does HUGE depletion; and his EM Pulse is just simply unfair. Capcom simply had no choice but to discard the EM Pulse in his future appearances as a normal playable character. ; )

===== Additional Information =====

---- Magneto has two special moves which only work fully when he is on his boss background, called the Avalon. In this background, it is made up of 4 sections. Magneto can travel to each of these sections by performing his Electric Field. Each time he performs this move, he travels to a different section, before looping back to the first once you reach the 4th section. For his Magnetic Tempest move to work fully, he must be on the 3rd section of the stage, which is the area where the blue spaceship is parked. From here, he can use the Magnetic Tempest move to attract the shards of material, and then use (D,DF,F + [MK]) to send the shards to the opponent.

---- When playing as him in single-player mode, you will not get to fight Magneto on the final stage.

---- When you complete the game with Magneto, it will end up on a screen with him, another Magneto and some X-Men soldiers standing, with the player Magneto in a flawed colour palette (looks like Cyclops' colours). The game will be stuck on this screen and will not progress.

---- His super meter builds itself automatically even when he is idle.

---- In COTA, his EM Disruptor and Magnetic Wave are normal basic moves.

---- Despite being an unplayable character, he can appear on the Continue screen perfectly.

===== About X-Men COTA =====
This was Capcom's first ever attempt at making the Marvel franchise as a 2D fighting game, and they passed with flying colours. The style, graphics and animation still holds up even to this day. Make no mistake, this is some of Capcom's finest work.
