Rotary Snow Plowing Train in ACTION! - Trains vs. Snow

Each year railroads battle against winter to keep the tracks clear, free of snow, and trains running. This video shows the impressive, and rare, rotary snow plow as it navigates challenging winter conditions, clearing snowdrifts and ice. This is one of the more specialized, and unique pieces of equipment railroads use in order to win this fight against nature each year. Lets see one of these cool machines railroads use to keep the snow away, and off the tracks!

Trains use different types of plows, and methods to keep the tracks open, and clear. In this video, we'll see a classic, and OLD SCHOOL rotary snow plow working its way down the tracks after a winter storm in Western Iowa. This was unlike any other piece of snow fighting equipment I've seen in action before! We'll watch as the rotary snow plow clearing the rails after a blizzard, and get up close to one at BNSF's Northtown Yard. This was the first time I saw one of these working in person, and it was COOL!
