The Haunted Cemetery Halloween Yard Haunt Display

http://hollywoodhaunter.com In this short and sweet video where we share the first couple pre-production years before we became crazy about Halloween and creating a Yard or Home Haunt. As we drove through a local neighborhood in October of 2008 we saw a decorated property that was so awesome with get lighting scary eerie music playing and static props and well as several motorized props. It had a bunch of grim reaper like figures a headless guy that had a speaker inside controlled by a microphone from inside the house. They had a motorized kicking leg prop in a coffin and a pneumatic hangman hanging from a tree above. They even had fancy graphic material stretched across the front fence and entrance with look like old run down broken brick walls. It was great and it gave the both of us the bug to go home and get started on our future Halloween decorating tradition each October. It was also a awesome year where we got to spend a Halloween with one of our Brothers. These are the years that we started discovering all you Home Haunters posting videos on You tube and putting information on websites like Halloween Forum which helped give us the bug as well. After the pumpkins were carved and turned into jack o lanterns we set out to construct and build tombstones for our new cemetery in the front yard. These first graves makers and head stones were made from 3/4" plywood and painted, each with a different theme. We went down to the local horse feed store and bought a bail of straw and scattered it out to look like freshly dug graves. We also stuffed our first dummy or scary guy scarecrow which ended up scaring most of the trick or treaters that year. We even had a hanging bat and a dummy on the roof with an ax in its back. We posed as pirates in a graveyard after I added some colored bulbs resting on the ground and littered some dollar store skeleton parts about, some covered with fake blood. 2009 We fabricated the boarded up windows which was made from 1" x 3" pine and painted and hung with two screws in each window frame some fitting together like a puzzle. We also got some dummies and made a murdered static ax lady on the roof and a motorized hang man prop that bounced up and down. It was held down by work out plates and banged all night long against our roof. We added some more lighting using work lights and cheap black lights. Just days before Halloween night we finished our PVC fence and entrance arch way. Our fence had little skulls we purchased from the dollar store along with several Halloween Masks and plastic pumpkins and flame pots. At the time we called or Haunt Mishap Manor and the theme was going to be dead guys all over who had several different unfortunate events causing death around the house with boarded up windows. We had a blast starting out and it just keeps getting bigger and better each year. One of our goals is to help anyone who may be interested and give them a little inspiration to start or celebrate this fun Holiday.
