Two Ways To Make A Mojito - history and recipes

In today's video, I'm going to show you two ways to make a mojito! The mojito has become an extremely popular drink, and countless variations of this drink exist. I'm keeping it to the classic ingredients of rum, sugar, mint, lime, and soda water - but make it using two different techniques. The first is a quick way to get mojitos into people's hands (if one person wants one, everybody wants one), while the second is a bit more time-consuming. This technique's wonderful if you have the time and plan on only making one or two. There's no wrong answer here, both drinks go down refreshingly easy - cheers!

THE FAST MOJITO RECIPE
2 oz. (60 ml) The Real McCoy 3 year Rum
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) fresh lime juice
1/2 oz. (15 ml) rich Demerara syrup (2:1 sugar:water)
10-12 mint leaves + mint sprig for garnish

THE SLOW MOJITO RECIPE
2 oz. (60 ml) The Real McCoy 3 year Rum
1/2 of a lime - cut into four pieces
1 tbs. raw Demerara sugar
10-12 mint leaves + mint sprig for garnish
