The Commonwealth's Veterans Day ceremony was held at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond, Virginia on November 11, 2024 at 11 a.m.
This is the 68th consecutive year that the Virginia War Memorial has hosted this annual official state recognition ceremony to honor those who have dedicated their lives to serving our country.
Speakers included Adjutant General of Virginia, Major General James W. Ring and General Gary M. Brito, U.S. Army Commanding General, Training & Doctrine Command.
Virginia War Memorial Director Dr. Clay Mountcastle served as emcee and patriotic music was provided by the 29th Division Band of the Virginia National Guard as well as Gentleman South. The 2024 recipients of the Memorial’s Veterans Day Essay Contest were also announced.
The Commonwealth’s Veterans Day Ceremony was broadcast live on CBS6 television in Richmond.
