Folk Bitch Trio, live in office + interview // GemsOnVHS™

Many of y'all know I was in Australia awhile ago, meeting my friend Kyle Brew (   • Kyle Brew, "God's Plan," // GemsOnVHS™  ) and later Brodie Buttons (   • Brodie Buttons, "King Brown," // Gems...  ) for an epic adventure in Melbourne and beyond. While I was there, i'd heard through the grapevine about a trio of people who were absolutely slaying the scene, mesmerizing crowds with three part harmonies and an irreverent attitude that reminds me now, after spending some time with them, of the Mary Wallopers. I'd sent them an instagram DM (slid in the DMs, as it were), and was heartbroken to have never received a reply (or a "seen"!). So imagine my elation when, years later, an email arrives in ye olde inbox proclaiming them the next big thing that I just had to record on their USA tour.

Well, they didn't know me from Adam, but of course me, always on the bleeding edge of folk bitchery, was more than ready to put something together, and thus we did. They swooped by the office to talk about Australian folk music, their favorite rom-coms and to be pestered by me as to why they didn't respond to my DM. Oh, and of course I had to ask them if they knew the 10 people in Australia that I know, because they had to be neighbors or something, right? Well, I won't spoil it too much. They did know them. Always ask.
