Schwarzhorn - Turtmanntal 4K

A hike to the Schwarzhorn (3201 m.a.s.l.) between the two valleys Mattertal and Turtmanntal. The summit can be reached from both sides. Our day trip in this video started in Gruben (Turtmanntal). After beautiful forests at the beginning of our hike and magnificent meadows with fascinating fauna and flora, we slowly ascended into the stony mountains to the Augstbordpass. From here the paths connect, so you walk the same track if you reach it from the Mattertal. The last part up to the summit is characterized by steep scree. The view from the Schwarzhorn is breathtakingly beautiful.

The ascent from Gruben includes 1345 meters of difference in altitude. The trail includes very big rocky steps at times, sometimes it is necessary to help oneself with ones hands. It is a very demanding hike and should only be done with suitable equipment (no climbing gear necessary) and physical condition. The 6.8 km long ascent takes about 5 hours, the descent 2.5 hours.

Eine Wanderung auf das Schwarzhorn (3201 m.ü.M.) zwischen den zwei Tälern Mattertal und Turtmanntal. Der Gipfel ist von beiden Seiten erreichbar.
Unser Tagesausflug in diesem Video begann in Gruben (Turtmanntal). Nach schönen Wäldern zu Beginn und prachtvollen Wiesen mit einer faszinierenden Fauna und Flora geht es langsam ins steinige Gebirge hinauf zum Augstbordpass. Ab hier begeht man denselben Wanderweg, wie wenn man vom Mattertal aus startet. Der letzte Teil bis zum Gipfel ist geprägt von steilem Geröll. Die Aussicht vom Schwarzhorn ist atemberaubend schön.

Der Aufstieg von Gruben beinhaltet 1345 Meter Höhenunterschied über teils sehr grosse felsige Tritte - zum Teil muss mit den Händen nachgeholfen werden. Es ist eine anspruchsvolle Wanderung und sollte nur mit passender Ausrüstung absolviert werden (keine Kletterausrüstung nötig). Gute Kondition ist ebenfalls empfehlenswert. Der 6.8 km lange Aufstieg dauert etwa 5 Stunden, der Abstieg 2.5 Stunden.
