Filling a high voltage transformer with oil can be a hazardous task. Mainly because they are tall structures and not easily accessed. In this video I perform a small modification on a blanking plate to allow the transformer to be filled in service using pipework at ground level. These flanges and their design have long since be discontinued so getting off the shelf items can prove extremely difficult. I love abit of fabrication and having a welder opens up lots of possibilities that previously didn't exist for me.
