Astro Camper Van Build ($200) by Terrible Carpenter

I pieced a few videos together to show the simplicity and functionality of my Astro Van camper build. It was converted when I bought it but I repurposed some materials and changed the layout to better serve my needs. I see some amazing vans built by exceptional carpenters and this is not one of those! It's super comfortable and works great however. Moreover, I built the interior for under $200 although I already had a refrigerator and the battery + electric was existing. I sold the original slat bed and sink but re-used the shelving. He had a battery and 12v electric wired already. It was really a matter of reinforcing shelves, building a bed and adding a little kitchen area. I also pulled the transfer case off a Chevy S10 and have the Journey's Offroad Kit for a 4x4 conversion. I drove a 1994 GMC Safari van from Montana to Patagonia on a 2 year road trip and have plans for this one to serve as a dedicated Mexico adventure vehicle. These are amazing little rigs and they perform well in sand, snow and moderate off-road conditions.
