Scenes from a Marriage (Swedish: Scener ur ett äktenskap) is a 1973 Swedish television miniseries written and directed by Ingmar Bergman. Over the course of six hour-long episodes, it explores the disintegration of the marriage between Marianne (Liv Ullmann), a divorce lawyer, and Johan (Erland Josephson), a psychology professor.
After some time apart, Johan revisits Marianne in their old home. They have dinner, read journal entries, and discuss and ignore some of the deeper truths about themselves.
