Classic Car Addict is excited to present this 93 Corvette ZR-1 in our Mesa AZ showroom. This 1993 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 is exceptionally rare, bold, and blindingly fast. When an awesome 40th anniversary icon like this is also well-documented and surprisingly affordable, you may not be able to read all the details before this one is gone.
Rarity is a big reason you want a classic, and this one really has it. 1993 is tied for the least C4 ZR-1s produced (448 examples,) and the factory-correct Ruby Red is in great condition. And while that can be mouth-watering to collectors, not only do the figures make this one ultra-desirable, but so does the overall presentation. The ruby red looks to be the factory application, and it continues to have a terrific shine. And looking bold is what a ZR-1 was meant to do. After all, these were the road-owning special widebody cars. As you look over the whole package, you see a very striking coupe. It's in factory details, like the way the darkness of the targa top wraparound parking lights, and badging look particularly good against the paint. And the only thing more vibrant than that paint are the original alloy Corvette rims with Nitto tires 315/35ZR17 in the rear and 275/40ZR17 on the front.
Combining as it does a historic level of performance with special paint and trim in a limited edition, the 1993 40th Anniversary ZR1 is universally recognized as one of the most collectible Corvettes ever produced. Chevrolet built only 488 ZR1 Corvettes in 1993; of these, only 245 were ordered with the highly desirable 40th Anniversary Package that featured a one-year-only Ruby Red exterior and matching leather interior. The sharp-looking matching style on the inside will have you leaving the targa top off so you can show it to everyone! The ZR-1 almost doubled the price of a standard Corvette, and so they made sure to load it with the best features. This includes automatic A/C climate control, power windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, driver airbag, power steering, cruise control, and a premium Bose AM/FM/CD/cassette stereo. The supple leather seats are six-way power adjustable to make sure you can find your ideal position. This is not one of the commemorative anniversary cars (this is far rarer) but it still reminds you that this is a special year for Corvettes with the 40th anniversary logo stitched into the headrests. The leather-wrapped sports steering wheel is on a tilt column to give you a clear view to the full gauge package.
Under the hood is the correct LT5 motor. It shows all the right signs of proper maintenance and being the original motor. This is a terrific powerhouse that took the American small block forcefulness and sent it off to a European finishing school. The masters at Lotus gave it a four-cam multi-valve setup to create a 405 horsepower V8 that is versatile from a standstill all the way past triple-digit speeds. And this one has a little extra power and thunder. It inhales deeper with an upgraded air intake, and it exhales with added muscle and authority with a header-fed dual exhaust. A powerful motor like this deserves to be paired with the control of a six-speed manual transmission, four-wheel power disc brakes, and the desirable FX3 adjustable suspension that was part of the ZR-1 package.
