怡萱無力照顧癌末父親，唯有將他送去「往生互助會」，簽署放棄急救同意書，並讓老人成為賭局物件，賺取花紅。在現實的壓逼與金錢的蠱惑下，怡萱為父親餵食最後一餐……台灣真實社會事件改編，以驚悚恐怖類型揭露現實真象。

As a desperate last resort, Hsuan has brought her terminally ill father to a private convalescence facility. His terminal cancer is steadily taking over his body, but as she cannot pay for hospital fees, this seems like the smartest choice. But the owners of the centre have more duplicitous plans for their patients. They run an illegal gambling ring, encouraging wealthy clients to bet on how long their patients will live. Wrestling with grief and guilt, Hsuan begins to suffer hallucinations, haunted by the grisly end game of her new landlords. An eerie horror tale grounded in very real personal tragedy, “The Evil Inside” questions our motives and priorities when caring for the sick and elderly.
