Join me and my old student Kelsey as we fly to Monterey, California!
This is actually not my first time at this airport, as I used to train out of Watsonville Airport (KWVI) and practiced towered communications at KMRY as a student. Del Monte Aviation had a beautiful FBO, great service, and cheap 100LL. They lent us a crew car so we could drive down Cannery Row as well as have lunch at Rockfish on the Fisherman's Wharf!
Monterey is known for advection fog, especially around this time of year. We were happy with the day we chose to fly, as it was beautifully blue and sunny. The flight couldn't be too easy though, as on our way back Deb's front tire sprung a leak and went flat on the runway. Don't ask me how, the mechanics can't even figure out how the small hole got into the inside of the tube. That's aircraft ownership for you :)
