On October 21, 2021, at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in Bonanza City, New Mexico a tragic event occurred on the set of the film Rust.
This resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and the injury of director Joel Souza. During filming a real bullet was fired from a revolver that actor Alec Baldwin was using as a prop.
