SORRY I DON'T HAVE A SCHEMATIC FOR THIS BUT.... if you want to build something similar search for "4017 sequencer" There is a potentiometer for each step which controls the brightness of a separate LED in a homemade LED/LDR Vactoral which controls the volume of the signal going through the pedal.
Hope this will set you off in the right direction.
