We have been working hard to restore our historic space, built in 1891, so that Quinn is a place where the people of Bronzeville can gather. Built in 1891, Quinn Chapel is the home to the first African American congregation and the longest building continually owned by African Americans in the city of Chicago.
By recently adding air conditioning, our community is working with our partners to preserve Quinn’s rich history while also making the space usable for our parishioners all year long, even in the warmer months of summer.
These upgrades are a continuation of the restoration needed to maintain this historic building. But more upgrades are needed and planned to help preserve Quinn Chapel for the Bronzeville community.
