FASHIONIZER.tv Presents: Sofia Karvela

Stylist-come-designer, Sofia Karvela, talks to FASHIONIZER.tv about the transition to designer and the process of creativity. At 16 Sofia made the big move from her birthplace Athens to New York to venture out on her own and make it in the city where dreams are built. Her design career started by destroying existing garments and which gave rise to her label Skar. She sold her first torn t-shirt to Sarah Jessica Parker while assisting Patricia Field during 'Sex in The City' shoots.
Her stylist résumé includes iconic publications such as Interview Magazine, Nylon and Love Cat just to mention a few.
As a child of Greek rock star royalties Anna Vissi and Nikos Karvela, Sofia Karvela has certainly created her own rock star life and is building a fashion brand that will grace the runways of New York City in the near future.
