In the fourth episode of "Taxes Today", Bentry Khonje, Electronic Fiscal Devices (EFD) Manager, talks about the introduction of EFDs in Malawi. EFD is a ‘trusted’ device that records all sales transactions and provide evidence of such transactions in a technically easy and undisputed way. It also records all purchases and stock reconciliations. EFDs were introduced in December 2013 to replace manually generated receipts and invoices and ordinary Electronic Cash Register (ECR). The EFD is an advanced version of an ECR.
