After some personal business to complete, I had time to post a nice relaxing video of Eden the Cheetah. She loves people and got up from the other side of her platform to visit and take a cat nap. It was hot and she wanted to rest rather than groom like she loves so I helped her.

Cheetahs love to lay their heads on something soft to elevate themselves. It's not only relaxing but serves as an early warning system to dangers. Cheetahs are not fighters and lose battles to other equal and larger predators so keeping alert saves lives.

With their heads elevated, they can hear, see, and smell better, even when asleep. They are highly skittish and aware. The slightest disturbance, be it a sound or smell can awaken them. It helps to have your head above ground to notice the potential dangers or even potential prey. It is why cheetahs LOVE to climb to higher grounds like termite mounds... to better survey their environment.

So I helped Eden keep her head up by using my arm as a pillow. She loves the attention and contact. I spent a better part of an afternoon being Eden's pillow and even while it was uncomfortable for me... it comforts me to please her. That is how you make lifelong friends with a cat like Eden.

On a sad note... at the end of the video I reveal the soul crushing news about Edens life. She passed away this past May 2017 due to chronic kidney failure. I will continue to celebrate her life in the video I have of her showcasing her wonderful personality and purr. There is not a nicer sounding cats purr than what came from Eden. You hear it during the short eulogy clip I made for her.
