Why I Photograph Strangers (And Why You Might Want To)
Photographing strangers changed how I see the world—and how I see myself. It’s not just about street photography. It’s about human connection, empathy, and slowing down to notice the beauty right in front of us.
In this video, I take you behind the lens and into my heart, to share why I photograph strangers—and what it’s taught me about people, presence, and storytelling.
As a professional photographer, I’ve captured weddings, families, events, and portraits—but some of my most meaningful photos have come from brief, unspoken moments with people I don’t know. A quiet man sipping tea in a café. A woman lost in thought at a bus stop. A child dancing in the street while the world rushes past.
These are not just "subjects."
They’re people.
And every one of them holds a story.
WHAT THIS VIDEO COVERS:
Why photographing strangers changed/helped me:
I used to be afraid—afraid to offend, afraid to intrude. But the moment I tried, something shifted. I began to see people differently. Their gestures, their stories, their beauty. Photographing strangers became a way to be more present, to build confidence, and to connect with people I’d otherwise never speak to.

WHY THIS MATTERS (TO YOU)
You don’t have to travel far or have expensive gear to make powerful images. Sometimes the most profound photos happen on the corner of your street. When you slow down. When you notice. When you choose to see the people around you.
So here’s my challenge to you:
Photograph one stranger this week.
Do it with humility, with presence, and with heart. You might just see something new—not just in them, but in yourself.
