We wend our way on and off the Northern Walkway as we follow the the Ngaio section of Te Araroa. Starting at Cummings Park we walk through Trelissick Park, along the valley floor, then up through Wadestown into Te Ahumairangi Park (previously "Tinakori Hill"). The wind is a constant companion to the city views as we work our way around the side of the hill and down to the Botanic Gardens.
Leaving the bulk of the gardens for another day, we stroll through the Lady Norwood rose garden and down through the Bolton St Cemetery instead.
