The man arrested in connection with the disappearance of UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana has been charged. The 42-year-old suspect appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court this morning on charges of murder, rape and defeating the ends of justice. It is alleged that the student arrived at the post office after hours on Saturday. The suspect allegedly insisted on helping her with some parcels. She went inside the premises where he allegedly raped and killed her. The police say during their investigations, they found blood at the post office but cannot confirm whose it is. The man was arrested in the early hours last Friday in Claremont, a week after Uyinene Mrwetyana had been missing. The matter has been postponed to 5 November.
