A severe weather outbreak swept over the Ohio Valley on Wednesday afternoon, leaving numerous reports of wind damage as a serial derecho occurred from IL through OH! Spawned by a remnant MCV and upper-level wave, this environment had significant amounts of instability and enhanced wind shear, but the storm mode was predominantly linear as several bowing segments pushed into Indiana. I positioned myself directly in front of one of those wind surges, which slammed into SW Miami county, IN with wind gusts of 50+ mph and blinding rain! It was a fun chase!
