Note: This video shows a driveshaft spinning at a high rate of speed - if you choose to duplicate the setup shown you do so at your own risk! The driveshaft could break free while it is spinning if it is not secured at the ends properly which could lead to serious injury or death! When attempting something like this it should be turned by hand first to make sure nothing is loose or binding and proper safety equipment should be worn.
This video is of the driveshaft yoke that I repaired installed back together with the other half of the driveshaft from my 42 Inch Bolens Mower Deck and the driveshaft being spun in my metal lathe for the first time as an assembly to check to see how much wobble it has and if there is much vibration. The slip yoke and joint that normally would attach to the PTO on the tractor is mounted in the four jaw chuck to drive the shaft. Noticed that one of the bearings is slowly rotating inside the spindle blade hub bore that I used to support the driveshaft at the tailstock end of the lathe so that will have to be addressed before I can do any further testing.
