Memorable Bronx Zoo I স্মরণীয় ব্রঙ্কস চিড়িয়াখানা
The Bronx Zoo, operated by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), is one of the largest and most famous metropolitan zoos in the United States by area (265 acres) and collection of wildlife. The Zoo is located within Bronx Park in New York City and owned by New York City. In the Bronx Zoo, animal enclosures have been designed in a way to mimic the animal's natural environment, providing a realistic setting with features like terrain, plants and waterworks to look and feel like the animal's original wild homes. Examples of naturalistic habitats and popular attractions are Congo Gorilla Forest for African rainforests, Himalayan Highlands for rugged mountain terrain, African Plains for grasslands, Madagascar, Tiger Mountain for Asian wild cats, World of Birds, Jungle World, Wild Asia Monorail and Dinosaur safari. It is challenging to fully cover the entire Bronx Zoo in one day due to its vast size and the sheer number of animals. Visitors often spend at least half a day to see the highlights listed above, but a comprehensive visit to all exhibits could easily fill a full day or more. To make the most of your visit, it's best to plan your route in advance and prioritize the animals and exhibits you want to see most. In this video, we tried to focus on what we have seen in the Bronx Zoo in one day.
Know before you go:
Timed-entry tickets: All visitors, including members, must reserve or purchase tickets online for a specific date and time slot before arriving. You can enter any time within one hour of your reserved entry slot. There are two main ticket options: (1) Bronx Zoo Admission (All-inclusive): Includes park entry and unlimited access to the "Star Attractions" and (2) Limited Admission: Includes park entry only. Star Attractions cost extra ($7 each) and can be added on-site.
***Free Wednesdays: Limited Admission is free all day on Wednesdays. These tickets are still timed and must be reserved online starting the Monday before at 5 p.m.. Note that Star Attractions are not included with the free ticket.
Seasonal attractions: Many "Star Attractions" are seasonal. For example, the Wild Asia Monorail and Children's Zoo are closed during the colder months. (Plan to visit indoor exhibits like Jungle World, World of Reptiles, and the Mouse House to warm up during cold weather or escape the heat in the summer)
The last entry is typically 45 minutes before the zoo closes, and animal exhibits close 30 minutes before the park does.
Visitors are allowed to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Picnic tables are available in various areas, including the indoor/outdoor seating at the Dancing Crane Café.
Visitors are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles to refill at the complimentary Water Refill Stations located throughout the zoo.
