Living thesis is an audiovisual installation by Brigitta Muntendorf and Javier Salinas for the St. Lawrence church in Nuremberg, Germany. In 2015 the topic of the church is the reformation (Luther’s theses were printed in Nuremberg) and the question, how the digital age deals with different aspects of the reformation and revival movements.
We decided to create an audiovisual installation to ask for possibilities of the dissemination of messages today with common social media tools and their models of communication. And we ask for it by using video and text– the message should not be heard physically, the non-spoken word in form of a text message has it’s resonance and response inside of us. Besides the video installation is also an audio installation in correspondence to the not spoken word.
But now we need you and your video message!
The video installation consists of two large-sized screens which are placed inside the church. One screen is open for the visitors, who have the possibility to make their video message in real time in a special space in the church with a webcam.
On the second screen we’ll create a prerecorded collage of the video messages you send us and the ones we make by ourselves in the real world.
Our teaser shows some examples but your creativity is totally free! What do you like to share with other people? What are your questions? Don’t think about THE message. Take it easy! It can be a tough statement as well as a thought you had in the morning or something you would have liked to know when you were 16 years old, something that concerns society, humans, a wish, a desire, a thought or an idea you like to share, a question you have or an answer you found.
Send your video to living [email protected], last date of acception is March 31th 2015!
