The Kia Carens Clavis EV is Kia India's first locally manufactured electric vehicle ( Made in India ), designed as a mass-market 7-seater MPV. It aims to offer spaciousness, versatility, and electric mobility for families. Bookings officially opened on July 22, 2025.

Futuristic Design and Exterior:

EV-specific enhancements: While retaining the overall silhouette of the ICE Carens, the Clavis EV features a subtly redesigned front bumper with active aero flaps for improved efficiency, and the charging port is repositioned to the front.

Lighting: It sports new "ice-cube-style" LED fog lamps, a sleek full-width LED light bar across the front, and "Star Map LED Connected DRLs" that also serve as turn signals. The rear also gets revised LED taillamps with a connecting light bar.


Wheels: Aero-optimized 17-inch alloy wheels contribute to efficiency and a distinct EV look.

Frunk: A useful 25-litre front trunk (frunk) provides additional storage.

Interior and Features:

Spacious Cabin: Designed as a 7-seater, the Carens Clavis EV emphasizes comfort and practicality for families.

Dual-Tone Theme: The cabin generally features a modern black and beige dual-tone theme, with higher variants offering a Triton Navy and Beige leatherette upholstery.

Dual Panoramic Displays: A highlight is the 67.62 cm (26.62") Dual Panoramic Display Panel, integrating a 12.25-inch touchscreen for infotainment and a 12.25-inch digital driver's display.

Motor: Powered by a front-axle mounted electric motor producing 255 Nm of torque. Power output varies by battery pack: 133 bhp (42 kWh) and 169 bhp (51.4 kWh).

Acceleration: Capable of 0-100 kmph in approximately 8.4 seconds (for the larger battery).

Charging: Supports 100 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 39 minutes. It also supports 11 kW AC charging (10-100% in ~4 hours).


Regenerative Braking: Features a four-stage regenerative braking system controlled by paddle shifters, including an i-Pedal one-pedal driving mode.

Safety:

Standard Safety: Comes standard with 6 airbags, ESC, ABS, Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and all-wheel disc brakes.

Advanced Safety (Higher Variants):
