👉 Standard ACLs can only block devices. Extended ACLs let you block specific traffic. In this video, I break down Extended Access Control Lists (ACLs) and show how to configure them step-by-step on a REAL Cisco Layer 3 switch using two VLANs and two PCs.
If you’re studying for the CCNA or trying to understand real-world network security, extended ACLs are a must-know topic. I explain what extended ACLs are, how they work, where to place them (a big exam rule), and then walk through a simple lab where we block one specific service (like SSH) without breaking everything else.
