Saba's Journey To Losing 74 lbs With The Sleeve Clinic

Before sleeve surgery, Saba had been struggling with PCOS for 15 years. She was diagnosed as obese, had stage 4 liver damage, and struggled with high cholesterol. "I have always lived a very healthy lifestyle, working out four to five times a week, eating healthy, all that stuff. But my weight just kept going up and up. Our team sat down with Saba to ask her a few questions about her weight loss journey with The Sleeve Clinic:

What fears did you have going into surgery?
“The whole idea of surgery was my biggest fear. But looking into it, I realized that it's quite minimal. It's not as scary as other surgeries would be.”

What was your surgical experience like?
“What I had imagined was completely the opposite, honestly. It was done in the blink of an eye. The recovery was a lot easier than I thought it would be. You just have to be careful. You can't push yourself too much. You're in pain because your body is going through so many changes, but it was a lot easier than I thought it would be.”

How has your life changed since having a gastric sleeve?
“Honestly, the biggest thing is my confidence and my health. And not having that stress in the back of my mind about what's going to happen in the future. How is my health going to be? Now that stress for me is gone, I can actually live my life to the fullest. Give my energy to things that actually matter in life, which is family, friends, and work. I'm living a healthier, happier lifestyle for sure.”

What advice do you have for people considering sleeve surgery?
“If you're thinking about it, do it. It is so life-changing. and it is so rewarding at the end of it. I feel so accomplished. It might seem like something that's really big and scary and such a huge deal, but in the long run, it's actually very minuscule. It's not that terrifying. It's not. It's not hard to go through. If people are thinking about it, they should just do it.”
